Buletin Digital. Vice President Sandiaga Uno made a pilgrimage to the tomb of Sultan Maulana Yusuf while visiting Serang, Banten. He claimed to be grateful to be given the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to the tomb of the son of the founder of the Banten Sultanate, Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin.
"We are grateful for the pilgrimage to the tomb of Sultan Maulana Yusuf Banten in the city of Serang. As we know that Sheikh Maulana Yusuf, the Sultan of Banten, was the second sultan who was one of the royal sultans of his time," Sandiaga said in a written statement.
Sandiaga expressed his praise to Sultan Maulana Yusuf who succeeded in developing Banten's economy without forgetting the task of disseminating Islam.
"He helped develop in terms of economics. Banten became the center of trade and spread Islam with full peace and justice, of course Islam that rahmatan lil alamin," he said.
On the sidelines of the pilgrimage, Sandiaga also said that the tomb of Sultan Maulana Yusuf could become the center of religious tourism in Banten. But it needs to be improved from several aspects, one of which is transportation access.
"I see religious tourism has the potential and needs to be developed. As we see the entrance is still very limited and has not been promoted as a tourist attraction," he explained.
The development of the funeral of Sultan Maulana Yusuf, continued Sandiaga, was also in line with the people's economic spirit that he wanted to build with the presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto. According to him, the development will automatically improve the condition of the surrounding community in economic aspects.
"And this can elevate religious tourism and the halal industry which is the foundation of Prabowo-Sandi to open jobs, help local communities enjoy an economic revival. That is our focus that employment must be created and the government must be present to help develop historic sites so that it can move the local economy, "concluded Sandiaga.
